Stoma care nursing in partnership
Stoma care is a very specialist area and many Hospital and Primary Care Trusts choose to offer this kind of care in partnership with SecuriCare. This means that SecuriCare supply stoma care sisters to work in hospitals and in the community. The company is in fact the UK’s leading independent supplier of specialist stoma nursing services.
The stoma service is provided without charge, ie it is not paid for by the NHS, but is funded by SecuriCare. We are able to do this through the dispensing fees earned by the home delivery service. | Our Newsletter | The day in the life of a Stoma Care nurse, your Questions answered and useful phone numbers in our "Hand in Hand" newsletter. Professional development SecuriCare nurses have specialist qualifications in stoma care. They undertake a continual professional development programme to enhance and update their skills.
Quality assurance The SecuriCare stoma care nursing service is committed to continuous quality improvement measures. As part of this commitment - and actively linking in with the Government's plans for clinical governance - regular patient and staff surveys are carried out. |
Some patients' comments from surveys carried out by an independent auditor:
"Very understanding. They make you feel good about yourself…"
"They've always been on hand…"
"They came out to your home afterwards…"
"Their manner has been brilliant. They reassure you."
"They made you feel more normal than you'd expect to feel.."
